Reiki

Usui Reiki is a form of spiritual practice emerging from Tendai Buddhism in Japan. However, it’s best known for its healing capacity. As a practice, Reiki engages with meditation and breathing exercises that work with Chi energy, the energy present in all nature and the universe.

A Reiki healer works with the Chi energy within the body of a client to loosen areas of blockage, stress and unresolved emotion.

Hovering the hands above, though sometimes on the body of a client, a Reiki healer channels the Chi Energy inherent in our world, to the client. The client can be seated or lying down.

The energy flowing into the client is experienced as warm and soothing. This helps to relax the body, restoring its natural energy flow.

This takes the body out of the fight or flight response into the rest and digest function, also known as the parasympathetic nervous system. The body is calmed and relaxed, giving your body the best chance to mend and heal.

A 45 minute to 1 hour session is a gentle experience of rest and rejuvenation. Restoring a sense of groundedness, helping to unclutter the mind. Sometimes powerful insights can be experienced, helping a client to understand situations in their life.
